The variable-frequency drive on an industrial elevator provides comfortable passenger transport and minimises the possibility of damage to the goods. The soft-start/soft-stop function also reduces wear and tear on the brakes, rack and pinion. Because the required current rating of the mains connection is lower, the electricity costs are also significantly reduced. The variable-frequency drive is available as an option and is often used on heavier hoists.
